A brief and abbreviated listing of the basic rules of the Non Nude Webmaster Community and their reasons for existing and their origins.

This listing is not definitive, there are variations on the rules and some leeway as too how strictly sites adhere to them but in general serious non nude webmasters consider these rules essential to the survival of the scene.

1. Obviously the #1 rule is NO NUDITY on the site. This includes any advertising (i.e. banners). This is a hard concept for people to understand and abide by, for the main reason that the closer you get to nudity the more clicks/traffic etc you may get so the desire of many is to push the envelope.

However the generally accepted rule is:
1.A No Nipples (wet t-shirts are debatable, but if it's nearly see through consider it NUDE and don't use it.)

1.B No Vagina's (again some camel toe pics have become acceptable but only the more benign one's. No Pubic hair should be visible, No "Lips" either)

1.C No Anal openings (should have cloth or hands covering this hole)

1.D No Sperm/cum should be visible (don't try and claim it's just white yogurt!)

1.E No sexual acts with just tits/pussy cut out (again sometimes this rule is debated but in general if it's obvious that sex is occurring but there aren't pussy/tits it shouldn't be used.)

History of Rule 1. This rule comes from the very beginning of the non nude community when in its infancy it was run mostly by underage teens looking to share/trade images of girlfriends and such. Most sites were for fun, until someone realized there could be money made by using mainstream programs like Allclicks or Terrashare. These mainstream programs didn't accept "adult traffic" however since our non nude sites contained no nudity they managed to avoid that rule and get paid. As the scene evolved and the mainstream programs of the late 90's crashed the non nude scene gained actual non nude paysites with revshare programs to use as sponsors. As another year passed the non nude scene became more liberal as sites became hosted on dedicated servers rules disappeared and using adult sponsors became acceptable. But throughout the non nude scene has always kept the #1 rule of No Nudity on sites.

2. The second rule is NO LINKING TO ADULT SITES. There are numerous debates about this rule but it has consistently survived. However over the years it has become more complex so:

2.A Do NOT link to adult sites from your non nude site (nowhere on your non nude site should you have any links to an adult site that contains nudity.)

2.B Receiving traffic from adult sites is somewhat acceptable. However it can only be sent to your own non nude site and then filtered to your trades. DO NOT force adult traffic to non nude sites blindly as this dilutes the scene's traffic.

2.C You CAN promote adult paysites, for revenue generation.

History of Rule 2. This is another rule from the infancy of the non nude scene. In the beginning when promoting mainstream programs they required non adult traffic so you couldn't link to adult sites if you wanted to get paid. As time progressed and the scene began using non nude and adult paysites to generate income debates ensued. However at this current time it is acceptable to send traffic to paysites to gain revenue. What is not desired is adult traffic forced into the scene. Adult traffic has already been exposed to the nudity so it's unlikely they will purchase memberships through our sites. Trading traffic with an adult site would be counter productive for any non nude site as the adult site will get highly profitable non nude surfers and the non nude site would end up with frustrated unhappy adult traffic that doesn't convert as well. So this rule is enforced to ensure the high quality and productivity that the non nude scene has always had.

3. The third rule covers traffic trading methods:
3.A Things NOT allowed:
- Blind Linking
- Gallery Skimming
- Chained pop ups
- Multiple pop ups

3.B Things ALLOWED
- Text links (both permanent & dynamically created by trade scripts)
- Thumb links (MUST have site title above and/or below thumb image!!)
- 1 pop up to a site that accepts being popped (toplists)
- Text links followed by or accompanied with descriptions.

History of Rule 3. This rule is a major part of what separates the non nude scene from the adult scene and is a big reason why the traffic that is traded is highly productive. The general idea behind these rules is to treat the surfers with respect and let THEM decide where they want to go. Initially the non nude scene didn't need these rules because most of the webmasters didn't even know about the things that are listed as NOT ALLOWED! In the beginning scripts weren't used because the sites were hosted on free hosts like geocities, but as time progressed and the scene grew trade scripts became the norm however the methods for linking didn't change much and because of that the traffic quality has remained high and surfers find that surfing non nude sites is easy and less frustrating leading to high bookmarks and in the end more money for everyone.

4. The fourth rule covers advertising methods that can be used on a non nude site to promote any type of sponsors and is mostly based on common sense:

4.A Things NOT allowed:
- No tricking the surfer
- No dialers
- No forcing traffic/blind linking sponsors
- No nudity on any advertising material appearing on the non nude site
- Prefer no sounds on sites

4.B Things ALLOWED
- Using banners/buttons/graphics/etc
- Text links of course
- May pop advertising material, but can NOT have nudity on it
- May have & promote AVS section on site, but can not show any nudity until inside the AVS members area

History of Rule 4. This rule is common sense no real history here besides the obvious. These rules are to create loyalty and trust with the surfers so they are willing to buy memberships repeatedly from quality non nude sites.

5. The fifth rule is not conclusive, but still important and covers acceptable non nude site content.

5.A Things NOT allowed:
- No cj sites, sites must have content (exceptions toplists but limits on number of toplists allowed in scene)
- Illegal content of any kind (even implied)
- Misleading or illegal domains/titles
- Preteen content
- Copyrighted (unless to you) or stolen content

5.B Things ALLOWED:
- Hosted galleries (must be completely non nude)
- Text promoting adult sites may include adult terms, but can not be misleading or illegal!

History of Rule 5. These rules have been borne of necessity to keep quality high in the non nude scene and prevent legal measures from being taken against it. Obviously from my previous history lessons you can tell a number of years ago when the non nude scene first started it wasn't entirely legal containing much copyright infringement and unlicensed content which over the years has lead to some legal problems for some people and lead to the creation and adoption of these rules.
